American Muslims Honor Sacrifices of Armed Forces
Ahmadiyya Muslim Community prays for those who have served our nation
SILVER SPRING, MD—May 31, 2021— On Memorial Day 2021, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA remembers and thanks the brave men and women serving this nation in the armed forces. The Community proudly participates in the international “Muslims for Remembrance” campaign, which remembers the sacrifices of the local members of armed forces in various countries around the globe.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community teaches its members of the Islamic responsibility to maintain loyalty to the country in which they live. Its Khalifa (Worldwide Leader) , His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, specifically said “As citizens of any country, we Ahmadi Muslims will always show absolute love and loyalty to the State…Whenever a country requires its citizens to make sacrifices, the Ahmadiyya Muslim [Community] will always be ready to bear such sacrifices for the sake of the nation.”
Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA realizes that the brave men and women who serve our nation have made monumental sacrifices to protect this nation and its freedoms. For this reason, the Community encourages its members to show their support for the armed forces through prayers for peace, especially on Memorial Day.
About the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community:
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a dynamic, reformist and fast-growing international movement within Islam. Founded in 1889, the Community spans 213 countries with tens of millions of members. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, established in 1920, is the oldest American-Muslim organization.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long-awaited messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) of Qadian, India. Ahmad claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad. The Community believes that God sent Ahmad, like Jesus, to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and reinstitute morality, justice and peace. Ahmad’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival and moderation. He divested Muslims of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.
