Muslims celebrate end of Ramadan

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM)– The Muslim community in Harrisburg gathered at the Hadee Mosque today to celebrate Eid-Al-Fitr, the holiday marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

During Ramadan, Muslims fast during daylight hours, so the festive lunch that takes place on Eid is the first time in a month most of the participants have been able to eat at a typical meal time.

Participants start with prayers, introspection, and atonement ahead of the big fast-breaking feast.

While the holiday is a day of celebration, the one today is tinged with recognition of all the problems in the world.
