Thousands to Gather in Chino to Champion Peace and Unity

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to host interfaith dinner at 37th West Coast Jalsa Salana

On December 27-29, the Baitul Hameed Mosque in Chino, California, will welcome thousands of attendees for the 37th annual West Coast Jalsa Salana (Annual Convention), hosted by Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA. Against the backdrop of escalating global conflict, this 3-day event will focus on the theme: “Fostering Compassion and Peace in Times of Conflict.”

The convention serves as a platform to inspire reflection, build bridges between communities, and encourage actions rooted in empathy and understanding. Saturday evening’s keynote address will highlight practical ways to resolve conflict and spread goodwill, drawing on timeless Islamic teachings and the life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

On Thursday, December 26—the day before the convention begins—Jalsa volunteers will team up with God’s Pantry in Pomona to pack meals for those in need. Led by individuals who’ve turned their lives around after incarceration or gang involvement, God’s Pantry offers a powerful example of resilience and redemption. This collaboration is part of the Jalsa Cares initiative, a dedicated program offering community service projects that address local needs in the surrounding community.

“The Jalsa is not just about talks and speeches—it’s about living out the values of compassion and service,” said Amjad Mahmood Khan, National Secretary of Public Affairs for Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA. “Partnering with God’s Pantry allows us to directly support those who need it most, while fostering hope and understanding. We need stories of unity right now, not division.”

In a time of unprecedented challenges—from wars to humanitarian crises—the Jalsa seeks to remind us of the power of unity and compassion. With participants from all walks of life and a special interfaith dinner on Saturday evening, the convention is a vibrant reminder of the importance of dialogue and shared humanity.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community welcomes everyone, regardless of faith or background, to join in this critical effort to build a brighter future.

About the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community:

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a dynamic, reformist and fast-growing international movement within Islam. Founded in 1889, the Community spans 213 countries with tens of millions of members. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, established in 1920, is the oldest American-Muslim organization.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long- awaited messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) of Qadian, India. Ahmad claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad. The Community believes that God sent Ahmad, like Jesus, to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and reinstitute morality, justice and peace. Ahmad’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival and moderation. He divested Muslims of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.
