Ahmadiyya Mosque hosts ‘Voices for Peace’ dinner

The Baitul Hameed Mosque on Ramona Avenue in Chino held its annual interfaith iftar on March 15 to allow community members, faith leaders, and individuals of all backgrounds to come together in the spirit of Ramadan for a meaningful conversation, followed by dinner to break the fast.

The Baitul Hameed Mosque is one of two mosques in Chino, the other is the Chino Valley Islamic Center on Chino Avenue at Yorba Avenue, which held an interfaith iftar on March 9.

Asif Arif of Public Affairs for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community said in the face of ongoing global crises, including the current situation in Gaza, grassroots initiatives are more crucial than ever to promote peace and understanding across the community.

Several speakers addressed the audience but it became evident fairly quickly that not all would be able to speak as the “call to prayer” was approaching at which the Muslims would have to leave the multipurpose room and go into the prayer rooms.
