Round Rock mosque’s new imam looks to build relationships with community

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Austin welcomed Qasim Choudhary as the first full-time imam of the Baitul Muqeet Mosque in Round Rock.

As imam, Choudhary will lead more than 300 members in daily prayers and Islamic education.

“We are really excited to have him as part of our community,” said Maqbool Ahmad, president of the Austin chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. “We have been growing over the last few years and there’s been a need for a while for us to have a dedicated imam at our mosque and we have we’ve been waiting, so we’re extremely happy to have him.”
